Logan Erickson has autism. He lives in the Bering Sea village of Unalakleet. When the young boy showed some interest in an Iditarod musher’s pet Pekingese, a plan was set in place to provide a special service animal for Logan. A year and a half later, an autistic boy is slowly emerging from his confusing shell through the patient efforts of a faithful yellow lab and the love and care of his village.
